CLIVE Burnet kept his nerve to guide Witney A into the final of the Gentworks Oxford & District Snooker League’s Colin Cutler Cup.

The score in their semi-final against Abingdon Conservative B at Oracle SC stood at 3-3 when Burnet came out to face Richard Palfrey in the tie-break.

The Witney man, who had lost his previous two matches, prevailed 65-23 against Palfrey, who suffered his third defeat of the tie.

Stephen Hedges won twice for the winners, with John Dawson doing likewise for Abingdon.

In the final, Witney will take on Premier Division leaders Abingdon Conservative A, who beat Littlemore RBL C 4-2.

Oracle C reached the final of the Buildbase Cup when they defeated Eynsham C 4-3, thanks to Jamie Power’s double and Martin Clement’s victory over the previously unbeaten Eric Pratt in the decider.

In the final, they will face New Club A, who overcame House Club A 4-3.

NEW Club clinched the Gentworks Oxford & District Billiards League Division 1 title with a 2-1 victory away to Littlemore RBL.

They finished just a point ahead of Headington Conservative Club, whose hopes vanished with a 2-1 defeat away to the runaway Division 2 champions

Thame, for whom Tom Fletcher and Rob Sellwood won.

Eynsham clinched the runners-up spot in Division 2 with a 3-0 win at Ashton, who are relegated from the top flight.
