CITY of Oxford swimmers earned the ‘top visiting club’ awards at both the Wycombe Dual Award and Cardiff International long-course meets this week.

The club, who retained their senior and junior titles in the Oxfordshire & North Bucks County Championships earlier this month, were once again in top form.

At Wycombe, City’s aged nine to 18 swimmers, beat off competition from 22 clubs for the honour.

Zofia Conway, nine, won seven golds in the 50m butterfly, 200m & 400m freestyle, 50m & 100m, 200m breaststroke and 100m backstroke plus two slivers.

City clubmate Juliet Anthony, 11, collected four golds in the 400m freestyle, 200m IM, 50m and 100m backstroke as well as four silvers.

City’s leading boy was 12-year-old Christopher Skelton, who claimed five golds in in the 50m & 100m backstroke, 100m butterfly, 50m & 100m freestyle in addition to four silvers.

At Cardiff, City’s aged eight-to-13 year-olds won a number of awards, including defending their top club title and capturing the Dave Haller Cup, the team relay trophy.

l BICESTER Blue Fins team of Alfie Bones, Ryan Steward, Mike Proctor and Josh Rowland won the open medley relay gold medal at the Oxfordshire & North Bucks County Championships.

There were also silvers for Bethany Taylor in the girls 100m freestyle multi-class and Mike Proctor in the boys 17 & over 50m butterfly.
