BEGBROKE secured their place in the quarter-finals of the Aubrey Hughes Handicap Shield competition after back-to-back victories.

Triumphs over Holton B and Gladiators B saw them boast a 100 per cent record in Group 3 and book a clash with Forum J in the last eight.

Despite giving Holton B a 173-point advantage, Paul Humphrey, Janet Brown and Ian Gordon were on song to record a 421-407 victory.

The trio then came from a 62-point deficit to see off Gladiators 404-370.

Vikings A topped Group 4 after a 436-395 win over Holton A.

Despite starting 193 points behind, the Vikings team of Lorne Lonie, Simon Cox and Thomas Bowden proved too strong to claim victory.

Forum D’s narrow win over Vikings B was enough to seal their passage through to the last eight in Group 5.

David Moulton, Damon So and Nick Langley started seven points ahead, but ended with a 370-343 triumph.

There was double delight for Bicester, whose B and F teams also topped groups six and seven respectively.

Other teams going through to the quarter-finals were Forum G, Holton C and Forum J.
