OXFORDSHIRE’S Oliver Fletcher helped Britain’s junior show jumping team win gold at the FEI European Championships in Samorin, Slovakia.
Fletcher, 14, from Faringdon, anchored the team with Disckoboy DN, a nine-year-old grey gelding owned by Lady Kirkham and Lady Harris.
Belying his age, the son of former top British international rider Graham Fletcher showed great maturity when under pressure.
Having come into his final round with two clears under his belt, Fletcher (pictured on his mount) knew that only a clear would do in order for Britain to be able to jump off for gold medal – and he duly delivered.
