PETE Coates and Dave Townsend excelled in wet and windy conditions as Three Pigeons whitewashed visitors Black Prince.

Coates (5-5-4) and Townsend (6-5-3) clanged off 14 dolls apiece as the hosts won 30-25, 25-24, 24-19 to stay second in Section 1.

Woodman still lead the division after claiming a clean sweep themselves, at Garsington Sports Club A.

Even allowing for the two-doll handicap they receive they won all three legs 29-25, 28-25, 33-24.

Ray Grant hit a baker’s dozen (4-4-5) for Woodman, as did Darren Cox (5-3-5) and Martin Ruffels (5-5-3) for the home side.

George A finally got a win under their belts as they beat New Club A at home 22-21, 25-23, 23-25.

Premier leaders Gladiators A had a fright at Red Lion A Yarnton, before scraping to a 2-1 win.

The Glads set and won the opening leg 24-21, with Andy Beal and Keith Weller bagging sixes.

But Red Lion levelled 26-20 and fell just short in the decider leg, going down 19-16.

Swan B gained the bragging rights over their A team, taking the first two legs 29-21, 24-22.

They set 22 in the final leg, where anchor man Keith Powell whipped off the three dolls he needed to reduced the arrears to 2-1.

Six Bells E Kidlington remain top of Section 2, with one of three unbeaten records in the entire league.

Their streak was stretched to seven matches with a 19-13, 20-15, 20-22 success at Gladiators B.

But Chequers C are level on points following a comfortable 20-14, 24-19, 21-19 triumph at home to Bullnose Morris A.

John Brown (5-4-4) was in top form for Black Horse C in their 2-1 win at Six Bells A Quarry.

The visitors edged the decider 20-19, having seen their lead for winning the opener 25-18 cancelled out by the hosts’ success on three sticks after the second leg was tied 15-15.

Donnington Club A moved off the bottom with a 22-21, 22-15, 20-16 victory at home to The Crown.

Stuart Bishop clanged off a six in his dozen dolls, inspiring Chequers A to cash in 20-13, 19-9, 18-16 at home to Queens Head in Section 3.

Brian Reidy’s impressive 14-doll haul (5-4-5) for Blackbird was in vain as they lost 2-1 to King & Queen.

The hosts pinched the final leg 18-17, with Simon Jones (4-5-4)again in fine form to top the division’s top scorer’s chart.

White House scored more dolls than their hosts The New Club B, (57-53), but still lost out 2-1.

SECTION 4 leaders Six Bells B Kidlington suffered their first defeat as they lost 2-1 at home to George B.

The leaders went ahead 19-16, but George hit back 21-13, 18-17 to spring a surprise.

Donnington Club C made it five consecutive wins as they beat Swan C 15-18, 17-10, 17-9.

Kevin Duffy bagged himself a six as Masons A came away from Democrats Club A with maximum points.

After sealing the opening leg on three sticks after drawing 14-14, they took the remaining legs 18-11, 23-12.

Graham Williams (6-2-2) hit a six to help Green Road Club B win the opening leg 16-14, but opponents Florence Park Club took the next two 19-14, 16-13.

Second-placed Red Lion B Yarnton remain unbeaten in Section 7 after overcoming Northway Club C 10-8, 12-10, 15-16.
