THERE was an emotional victory for Frank Malone in the Ann Malone Memorial Trophy at Fritwell.

It is the first time that the 82-year-old has won the competition, which was founded in memory of his wife, who died from breast cancer 12 years ago.

Malone clinched the trophy by winning the fourth and final match of the series with 66lb 0oz 0drms of carp.

Steven Malone was second with 55.0.0, while Ian McCormack was third with 54.0.0.

Over the four matches, more than £1,000 was raised for the Sobell House charity.

Kevin Jeacock was an easy winner of Beehive AC’s FA and UEFA Cup quarter-finals on a windswept Lower Court.

Jeacock caught 80.0.0 of carp and skimmers to pole and corn, while Shawn Percy was second with 35.2.0 which included 22lb of skimmers. Chris Dingle was third with 26.11.0, Dave Pether headed the field with 5.9.0 of skimmers in the final North Oxford AS Canal Summer Series match held on the Oxford Canal at King’s Bridge.

Wayne Rudman was second on 5.6.0, with John Coleman third on 4.0.0.
