GORDON Benson claimed victory in elite men’s event at the Bloodwise Blenheim Palace Triathlon, which attracted 7,000 competitors.
The European Games gold medallist triumphed in 58mins 26secs – inheriting the title won by double Olympic champion Alistair Brownlee last year – beating Chris Perham and James Teagle.
In the women’s elite, Sophie Coldwell held off Sophie Saller and Beth Potter in the final stages to claim victory in 1hr 5mins 51secs.
Colin Dixon and Beth Warne were the first male and female finishers in the sprint race, while Simon Classey and Frances Johnson won the super sprint.
The sprint team relay winners were Gregory Bird and Rachel Reynolds.
In the junior elite, Barclay Izzard and Madeleine Henderson were victorious, while Matthew Willis and Alice Patterson took the youth super sprint.
