NORTH Oxford’s men are well on course for promotion to the Aegon Team Tennis National League after winning their first three matches of the season.
The club, backed by Display Solutions, top the South West (East) regional table, following their 10-2 victory over Great Missenden.
The team of skipper Jack Rooney, Christian Petersen, Joe Cartledge, national over 45s champion Jeff Hunter, and Oxfordshire captain Jon Maskens did not drop a set in their first two matches.
They just lost out on yet another clean sheet when the second doubles against Missenden was narrowly lost on a championship tie-break.
The first doubles was won with a superb drop volley from Cartledge after some stunningly powerful exchanges.
