JOHN Patey scored 10,480 to help Division 1 side Democrats to a 4-2 victory over Division 2 leaders Gladiators A in the Johnsons Buildbase Oxford League.
Patey was well supported by singles wins from Bob Parsons (4,700), Richard Garrett (4,440) and Billy Hill (7,570).
Premier leaders Vikings Club won 5-1 in a low-scoring match away at Gladiators B.
Alan Lowe, Dave Rose and Chris Bateman won the home side’s singles, while Oracle took both pairs to rescue a draw.
Donnington kept their Division 1 title bid on course after a 5-1 home win over Berinsfield.
Masons B won 4-2 at Vikings B, thanks to singles wins by Grant and Reg Johnson, also taking both pairs.
John Joe Kelly and Mick Stratford won Vikings’ singles.
OXFORD League player Mark Trafford won the highest break award at the Surrey Open with a personal best 24,850.
