THE Banbury-based Haas team fared best of the three Oxfordshire Formula 1 teams in the Chinese Grand Prix at Shanghai Kevin Magnusson finished eighth, two places ahead of teammate Romain Grosjean.
It was a disappointing day for the Williams team, from Grove.
Lance Stroll’s race lasted less than a lap after contact from Sergio Perez’s Force India car put him into a spin at turn ten.
Fellow Williams’ driver Felipe Massa struggled with the grip on the drying circuit and finished 14th to drop to eighth place in the drivers championship.
Nico Hulkenberg came 12th in his Enstone-prepared Renault, one place ahead of teammate Jolyon Palmer.
The race was won by Lewis Hamilton for Mercedes, and he now shares the championship lead with runner-up Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari).
