OXFORDSHIRE Under 18s are a victory away from guaranteeing a spot in the Shires League end of season play-offs.
A 15-5 win over Surrey 2nd at St Helen & St Katharine School, Abingdon, means they now need a positive result against Herefordshire in two weeks’ time.
Luke Backley, Christian Mitchell, Kaylan Jensen, Isaac Woods, Jamie Cackett, Natalia Mitchell, Maisie Boyd, Maisie Marriott and Bronwynn Ready starred for Oxon.
However, the under 14 team just missed out on the play-offs, losing 11-9 to Surrey 2nd in Epsom.
Oxon’s team included Adam Burden, Albie Marriott, Ben Horseman, Alfie Luo, Holly Craig, Rebecca Norkett, Eleanor Hoch and Charlotte Gifford.
