GLADIATORS Club A claimed a notable scalp in the Johnsons Buildbase Oxford & District League.
The Division 2 leaders came from behind to win 4-2 at home to Premier outfit Berinsfield.
Phil McFarland won the opening leg for the visitors against the break when beating Dave Jarman 5,940-2,710.
Gladiators responded by taking the next three singles through Bert Lovegrove (6,450), Keith Gardner and Bob Pincombe, who had a 6,490 winning break.
This was after he had been set 5,610 (break 5,400) by John Boal.
The teams then shared the pairs to leave Gladiators victors.
Second-placed Headington Conservative Club went down 5-1 at home to Donnington Club, while Masons B won two crucial points at home to Vikings Club A with a 4-2 success.
Pete Ewins was top singles scorer with 5,840.
Vikings B crashed 5-1 at home to Masons A in a low-scoring match.
Gladiators Club B lost 6-0 at West Oxford Democrats Club, whose top scorers were Billy Hill (7,180) and John Patey (5,930).
