OXFORDSHIRE enjoyed a successful Under 18 Bronze tournament, taking home five medals from Hereford.

Jamie Cackett (Abingdon) won gold in the mixed doubles with Maisie Marriott (Didcot), before clinching bronze in the boys’ singles, falling to tournament winner Siddharth Halder, of Avon.

Marriott also tasted victory in the girls’ doubles, partnering Bronwynn Ready (Long Wittenham).

There was also medal success in the Hampshire Under 17 Bronze tournament.

Luke Backley took bronze medals in the boys’ singles and doubles, with James Hempstead (Witney).

Oxfordshire’s Under 16 team were edged out 11-9 by Warwickshire 2nd in the Shires League.

Christian Mitchell, Charlie Driver, Ethan Lau, Andrew Norkett, Safia Khimji, Maddy Cook, Rebecca Norkett and Jasmine Piper represented the county.

The Under 12 team were also in action in Warwick, triumphing 16-11 in an Under 12 inter-county friendly.

Oxon’s team consisted of Jason Ou, Clement Jin, Jack Needell, Leo Saarelma, Anthony Peverall, Freddie Driver, Ethan Soanes, Jeveeka Tilakraj, Zoe Soomawalla, Sophie Rowe and Erin Murphy.
