JACK Brooks admits his friends and teammates have been dishing out plenty of banter after his appearance on Celebrity Dinner Date.

The former Oxfordshire cricketer, who has established himself as one of the country’s leading bowlers for Yorkshire, featured on last night’s episode.

Brooks was one of three men trying to win a date with Coronation Street actress Rhea Bailey.

And his three-course meal of a chicken satay starter, chilli and honey salmon with noodles for main and chocolate chip cookies and ice cream did the trick.

But although Brooks was selected by the 33-year-old for a second date and the duo exchanged numbers, nothing further has come from the link-up.

“I was getting so much stick from everyone when it was on,” he said. “I had to switch my phone off in the end.

“I was asked to do it and thought ‘why not?’

“It was fun. We swapped numbers and text each other for a bit, but she has moved to America because she wants to further her career there.”

He joked: “I thought it was a bit extreme to get out of seeing me again.”
