The Barbury International Point-to-Point is a first fixture of its kind and unique to the UK.

To be held on Saturday, January 14 a thrilling day's racing is guaranteed.

And you can be there as part of an exciting competition with the Oxford Mail and Barbury Racecourse.

The meeting is a 'first' for a number of reasons, not least because never before have Irish horses and riders been permitted to compete at this level on a UK Point-to-Point course.

It is the first time licensed trainers will be permitted to have runners at this level, and the meeting will host the first ever running of a Bumper (National Hunt Flat race) on a UK Pointing track.

Barbury Racecourse sits in a special part of Wiltshire which lives and breathes horse racing.

The Racecourse sits on the beautiful Barbury Estate near Marlborough, home to famous trainer Alan King.

Point-to-Point racing is the younger brother of the sport you see at Cheltenham and Ascot, where young horses and riders cut their teeth.

The competition is just as sharp, and there's plenty to do with shopping, the Barbury Buttery to satisfy your appetite with premium street food, bookmakers and the chance to see the sport close up and personal.

Oh, and of course there's a bar!

Advance ticket sales are very encouraging - and you could be there for free.

We have five prizes, each consisting of four tickets for the day, worth £40.

To enter, simply answer the following question and then email your answer to sportsdesk@oxfordmail.co.uk by 5pm on Friday (January 6).

You must use 'point-to-point competition' as the subject header and include your full name, address, postcode and daytime contact number.
