WEST Oxford Democrats led three times but had to settle for a 3-3 first-leg draw at home to Berinsfield in the Johnsons Buildbase Oxford & District League’s Team Knock-Out Cup, John Patey (4,610) and Richard Garrett (5,650) twice put Demos ahead in the Group A contest.
But the visitors levelled through Phil McFarland (5,090) and John Boal.
Patey and Eddie Tebby (9,040) won the first pairs for Demos, but again Berinsfield responded through Arthur McIntyre and Boal (5,670).
Donnington won 4-2 at home to Masons A, thanks to Ian Moquet and Dave Tooke, while Masons B came from 2-0 down to draw 3-3 at home to Gladiators A.
