CHERWELL Academy’s junior girls secured two notable third-place finishes in the English School Swimming Association Team Championships at London’s Olympic pool.
The Oxford-based school’s junior team of Evie McLean, Illizane Pinfold, Gretel Goodgame and Meg Smit booked their place in the freestyle and medley relay finals ranked ninth and fifth respectively.
But they excelled themselves to make the podium with two bronze medals.
The Cherwell senior girls team of Emily Wood, Amy Coombs, Olivia Webster and Weiyi Tan finished eighth in both the freestyle and medley relay finals.
The Cherwell girls are members of City of Oxford SC. The club’s Daniel McNamara and Nick Skelton were members of Abingdon School’s teams.
