SUMMER League champions Kidlington Green Social Club B got their Greene King ODDA Winter League Premier campaign under way with a 7-2 success at home to Peachcroft Social Club.

Mark Burns and Geordie Grant gave the hosts a 2-0 lead, but Peachcroft fought back through Mark Breakspear and the consistent Jason Turner (180).

But the home side then took control and as wins from Neil Russell (180) and Sean Holly plus a 3-0 pairs whitewash saw them home.

Section 1 side Kings Arms created an upset when winning 5-4 away to Premier side Cowley Workers Club.

After wins from Simon Davison and Les Radford put the visitors ahead, the Workers made it 2-2 through maximum men Aaran Stevens and Jon Jukes.

Kings Arms took charge through Scott Mercer-Rolls and Andrew Wood before a pairs success sealed their win.

Newly-promoted Section 1 side Democrats Club just lost 5-4 at home to powerful Premier side Challow Royal British Legion.

It was 3-3 after the singles with Challow wins for Preben Krabben, Jim Cross and Matty Smith, being matched by successes from Phil Say, Aaron Presley and Ashley Presley (180), who beat Reg Bowers. But Legion edged the pairs 2-1.

Section 2 newcomers Catherine Wheel made a stunning start with a 7-2 success against Corner House after taking the five singles A through Dennis Butler, Bob Brown, Andy Douglas, Tony Allday and Dave Swanton.
