NOMINATIONS for the 2016 Oxfordshire Sports Awards open today – with more categories than ever before.

This year’s event – the 11th – will take place on Friday, January 27 at the Kassam Stadium, giving even more time to mark outstanding achievements.

Oxford Mail readers can help identify those you believe should be nominated for their excellent performance over the past 12 months, whether they are individuals, clubs, coaches or volunteers.

Last year, cricketer Jack Brooks and footballer Demi Lambourne landed the sportsman and sportswoman accolades.

This year sees 14 awards, with a deadline of midday on Friday, November 11 set as the deadline for nominations.
