JASON Plato’s chances of a third MSA Dunlop British Touring Car Championship hang by a thread after the penultimate round of the season at Silverstone.
The Silverline Suburu BMR Racing driver finished tenth, fifth and eleventh at the Northamptonshire circuit.
Plato, from Oxford, is one of eight drivers battling for the crown.
But the 48-year-old’s hopes are slim as he trails seven drivers in the standings and lies 58 points adrift of leader Sam Tordoff heading into the final round at Brands Hatch on October 1-2.
