Felipe Massa, who endured problems in practice, finished sixth in the Chinese Grand Prix at Shanghai yesterday.
The driver from the Grove-based Williams F1 team had his practice curtailed by tyre problems.
But in the race itself, he stayed out of trouble to finish just over a minute behind Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg, who recorded his third successive win.
Massa’s teammate Valtteri Bottas also got into the points in tenth place.
There was no joy for the Enstone-based Renault team, whose drivers Kevin Magnussen and Jolyon Palmer finished 17th and last respectively.
Defending world champion Lewis Hamilton came seventh after starting from the back of the grid.
