A SUPERB showing from both A teams saw Oxfordshire cruise to a 22-14 win at Kent which significantly eased their relegation concerns in Division 1 of the BDO Inter Counties Championship.

They went into the second day of their final away match of the season trailing, but a 14-4 scoreline saw them climb two places to sixth with one game remaining.

The Ladies’ B clash ended all square, while the Men’s B were edged out 7-5.

Resuming 10-8 down, Oxfordshire’s A sides went up a gear.

The ladies stormed to a 5-1 win, with lady of the match Deta Hedman (27.83) leading the way.

Kim Ledbury, Sandra Cox, Trina Blackman and captain Clare Bywaters also came out on top.

The match was still in the balance, but the Men’s A delivered a superb 9-3 success.

Sean Holley and Brendan Kearns got them away to a strong start, before Kevin Lowe kept his 100 per cent record intact with a 4-0 win.

Lee Russell took the man of the match award with a 4-3 success and a 30.08 average.

Kevin Wilkins, Jon Jukes, Preben Krabben, Ade Larner and Keith Bedding finished the job.

Oxfordshire end the campaign at home to Dorset on April 23-24.
