BRADLEY Smith clinched eighth place at the Argentina MotoGP in a weekend dominated by tyre issues.
The Oxfordshire rider, who qualified 12th, rounded out the top eight for the second successive race this season at the Autodromo Termas de Rio Hondo.
After issues with the rear tyre of Scott Redding’s Ducati in practice on Saturday, the race was reduced by five laps to 20 due to safety reasons.
And with the warm-up being in wet conditions but the race starting dry, riders were forced to change to their second bikes on laps nine, ten and 11 respectively.
Marc Marquez dominated to take victory, beating Valentino Rossi and Dani Pedrosa.
Yamaha Tech 3 rider Smith finished 50.709secs behind Marquez and sits ninth in the standings with 16 points.
The next round is in Austin, America, this weekend.
