Islip rider Sarah Rippon rode her third winner when Good Egg caused an upset in the AGA Ladies Open at Cocklebarrow.

The dual Irish hunter chase winner was given an easy time early, but jumped into the lead four out in the Heythrop Hunt Point-to-Point.

With market leaders Tugboat and Vasco Du Mee failing to land a blow, the 13-year-old gelding registered a comfortable victory.

Rippon, who rides out for Sparsholt trainer Harry Whittington and rents a stable from Henrietta Knight’s West Lockinge yard to train the imposing son of Exit To Nowhere, was delighted.

“I’m very much a novice and can’t really ride,” she said.

“Co-owners Dom (Wertheimer) and Char (Wills) have helped out a lot so credit goes to them."

“We’ve got him on lease from Harry and Lorna Fowler for the season and the aim is to take in a Hunter Chase or two along the way.”

Jordan Nailor, who rides out for Chipping Norton trainer Charlie Longsdon, was also on the mark with Cab On Times.

The 16-1 shot got off the mark at the 12th attempt in division one of the Carter Jonas six-year-olds and over Open Maiden for the 17-year-old rider.

Buck Magic completed a hat-trick for John Smith-Maxwell, who schools at Aston Rowant trainer Lawney Hill, and owns, trains and rides the ten-year-old.
