DIDCOT’s Gavin Lissenden has promised there will be no mistakes this time around as he prepares to exact revenge on old rival Jason Chay.

The 33-year-old takes on Chay for the Queensbury League regional super middleweight title on Saturday, February 6, in the Millennium Arena of the Copethorpe Effingham Park Hotel in West Sussex.

Lissenden, who trains at South Moreton BC, last faced his opponent in October, losing in three hard-fought rounds.

He admits to underestimating Chay in the past, but insists he will not make the same mistake.

Lissenden said: “He was much better than I thought he was going to be.

“But this time I’m fully focused on the job and I’m coming to get that belt.

“In the first fight I slipped in the second round which was counted as a knockout.

“I lost focus and the game plan went out the window, but even with that counting against me I still thought I won the fight.

“Now that I know more about Chay, and what he’s really like, there is no doubt I will beat him.”
