Ben Rowland is celebrating after being crowned the Nations Cup under 18 champion.
The 17-year-old (above), from Abingdon won six matches – two of them in a final frame decider – at Mansfield to capture the prestigious title against opposition from Scotland, Wales and Ireland.
To top it off, Rowland was asked to be captain of the England Under 18 A team, who also picked up their title by beating Wales 13-4.
The youngster, the Oxfordshire Summer League singles champion, has played all over the country this year in the International Professional Pool Association tour.
He is also a proficient snooker player, and last month lost to Ronnie O’Sullivan by one point in a one-frame exhibition at Newbury.
