OXFORDSHIRE won promotion in the Women’s Over 35s Inter-County Championship at Eastbourne for the second year running.
They romped through Division 5, defeating Shropshire 5-0, Hampshire & IOW 5-0 and South of Scotland 4-1.
Playing for the first time were Lizzie Coulson (Jelfs) and Imogen Wyatt, stalwarts of the Oxfordshire side who reached the top-flight of the Inter-County Cup some 15 years ago.
- OXFORDSHIRE found the going tough at Goslings Tennis Centre for the Eastern Region 9 and under County Cup.
Bobby Hornby starred with singles victories, but could not save Oxon from losing 14-4 and 16-2 to Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire respectively.
Oxfordshire narrowly lost 10-8 to both Essex and Gloucestershire in their other matches.

- CHOLSEY’S 3-1 win at Oxford Sports in Men’s Division 1 of the OLTA Babolat Summer League ended the hosts’ title aspirations and placed Cholsey a point behind leaders Woodstock with two matches to play.
