Despite winning on four of the six rinks, Oxfordshire went down 122-110 to Middlesex in their Home Counties League match at South Oxford.

Barry Lambourne’s rink produced a superb comeback for Oxon.

They trailed by seven shots with five ends left, but a four on the last end gave them a one-shot victory.

Oxon’s other winners were Paul Sharman’s rink, who finished 17 shots ahead, while Jason King’s side scored a double on the last end for another one-shot win.

A two on the last end gave them victory again by a single shot.

Alan Ley’s rink won by six Heavy defeats for skips Will Campion and Mike Petersen led to the home loss.
