Six rowers with Oxfordshire connections will make up the Great Britain women’s eight at the World Championships at Aiguebelette in France.

Former Headington School pupil Olivia Carnegie Brown, plus Leander club Henley members Katie Greves, from Oxford, Louise Reeve, Victoria MeyerLaker, Rosamund Bradbury and cox Oxford Brookes student Zoe de Toledo, who guided Oxford to victory in the men’s Boat Race, compete in the tournament from August 30 to September 6.

Wheatley’s Frances Houghton will compete in the quad scull, while Leander’s Victoria Thornley is set to feature in the double scull.

Wallingford Rowing Club’s Brianna Stubbs and Eleanor Piggott, coached by Ben Reed, go for glory in the quadruple scull.

Oxford University president Constantine Louloudis, plus a Leander quintet of Matt Gotrel, Will Satch, Pete Reed, Alex Gregory and cox Phelan Hill compete in the men’s eight.

Oxford Brookes’ duo Joel Cassells and Peter Chambers go in the pair and four respectively.

The GB four, coxed pair and spare pair include Oliver Cook (ex-Abingdon School) Stewart Innes (former St Edward’s School) Scott Durant and Oxford Brookes’ Matthew Tarrant.
