BAR BILLIARDS: Democrats earn draw in opener
West Oxford Democrats Club started their OBBA Summer League campaign with a thrilling 3-3 draw with Berinsfield Club in Group A, writes PETE EWINS.
Trailing 3-1, Bob Parsons (3,860) and Eddie Tebby (4,640) came to the rescue for Democrats.
Masons beat Gladiators Club 4-2 in Group B, thanks to Mick Murphy, Lewis Stratford (6,300) and two victories for Martyn Wood (3,420 and 3,800).
Kennington also started well with a 4-2 victory at Marlborough A.
