FORUM I turned league standings on their head by beating Oxford & District Association Division 2 champions Vikings B to lift the Aubrey Hughes Handicap Shield at the Gladiators Club.
Ryan Hambridge, Christine Scaysbrook and Ben Pritchard led the Division 4 team to an 86-point victory over Vikings’ Eamonn Deeley, Simon Cox and Mike Aistrop.
Having been handed a 246-point handicap because of the difference in league standings, Vikings struggled to close the gap.
Forum caused them several problems throughout the evening and secured a solid victory.
In the semi finals, Vikings battled past Forum G trio Terry Ruane, Bob Hallett and Farshad Shaddell, who had a head start of 142 points.
After resisting Vikings in the early stages, their opponents levelled with victory in the doubles before winning by eight points.
Forum I advanced to the final with a comfortable victory over Bicester E’s Cameron Innes, Wendy Chapple and Terry Goddard.
Bicester began the tie with a 25-point lead, but Forum made light work of levelling the semi final and ran out victors with a 55-point margin.
