Didcot ace Elliot Harvey recovered from a slow start to win the Whitton Mill Kart Club Championship held near Daventry.
In practice on Saturday, the 13-year-old was around a second off the pace.
Team manager Kato Adams made some set-up adjustments, which turned Harvey went from the slowest on track to the fastest.
In heat one, he started 18th and finished fourth.
In heat two he went from 31st to seventh and in heat three, he started on pole and finished first.
These results gave him pole for the final, in which he had a flag-to-flag victory, winning by 1.5secs.
Harvey next races in the first round of the national X30 Tour at Trent Valley Kart Club, Grantham, which takes place over Easter.
