Oxford's University’s fighters will be looking to make it five wins in a row when they take on their Cambridge counterparts in the 108th Varsity Boxing Match at the Cambridge Corn Exchange tomorrow night.

The Dark Blues retained the Truelove Bowl for the fourth successive year after defeating their fierce rivals 7-2 last time.

Both Universities have won the famous contest 51 times, so it’s all to play for as Oxford look to take the lead in terms of overall victories.

Having lost two of their top boxers – one for medical reasons, the other due to studying commitments – Oxford go into the clash as underdogs against a Cambridge line-up which is boosted by the return of three of last year’s team.

But Oxford’s head coach Dave Mace is confident his boxers can turn the tables in what is always a fiesty atmosphere.

The doors open at 5.30pm, with the first fight scheduled for 6.15pm.
