Five Abingdon Vale swimmers made the podium at the Oxfordshire & Notyh Bucks Championships in Aylesbury, led by Niall O’Leary, who won the 200m and 100m backstroke to become the open champion in both categories.

Caitlin Wheatley, 17, won the open 200m butterfly and was second in the 100m race.

Ellie Nutt, 16, was second in the 50m breaststroke, while Yasmin Tajalli, 13, was runner-up in the 50m freestyle.

Emily Ford, only 12, was second in the 200m and 100m butterfly junior championship.

Wantage White Horses, who were fifth in the junior standings, had two county champions.

Edward Beamont-Dickety took gold in the 200m breaststroke, and also struck silver in the 100m individual medley and 50m freestyle.

Geo Ratouly won the 50m freestyle title, while clubmate Anna Kirk took silver in the 200m backstroke.
