OXFORDSHIRE teenager James Hall is looking to continue his motorsport education when he competes in this year’s Formula 1000 Rally Championship.

Hall, 13, from Witney, who attends Henry Box School, started his career when he was nine-years-old.

After doing well in karting, he tried his hand at short oval racing, becoming both the 2013 Junior Winternational champion and also the 2014 British Expo champion.

The new season starts with the Roskirk rally at Three Sisters on March 1, but age restrictions prevent him from competing until after March 28, when he is 14.

And Hall has managed to attract a main sponsor in the shape of Witney-based Rally Preparation Services Ltd.

While pre-season testing has been carried out in a Toyota Yaris, Hall will be racing in a Citroen C1.

His dad Robert Hall, who is chief engineer at the family-run firm in Sandford-onThames near Oxford, said: “James’s ambition is to become the next Colin McRae.”
