Preben Krabben stayed on course for a seventh singles title when he reached the quarter-finals of the Greene King ODDA Summer League men’s competition.

The Goodlake Arms ace, who won his play-off at Corner House, now faces stiff opposition in the form of Ryan Bull (Windrush Social Club).

Bull, who won through in a difficult group at Democrats Social Club, topped the Premier Section standings, with 13 wins out of 14 in his first season in the league.

Rose Hill Community Centre have two players in the play-offs, in 2012 runner-up Terry Wood and Geordie Grant.

Trevor Ballard (Corner House B) made it into the quarter-finals after a tough play-off at Cricketers Arms, Clinton Cantwell (Kidlington Green Social Club) battled his way through at (Cowley Workers SC) and Mark Holtom (Marlborough Club) earned his place by winning at Chequers Inn.

The final singles play-offs will be held at Donnington Community Centre next Tuesday.

The two winners will go forward to finals night, which will be held Oxford Social Club, Roman Way, Cowley on Friday, November 14.

The ladies singles final will between 2008 champion Paulette Guy (Rileys Social Club), and first-time finalist Nadine Donson (Catherine Wheel).
