JASON Plato heads into the final round of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship at Brands Hatch this weekend going all out for victory.

The Oxford driver is 50 points behind leader Colin Turkington in the drivers’ standings.

But with his MG KX Clubcard Fuel Save team ahead in the constructors’ championship, Plato knows everything is at stake and is relishing the battle.

“The manufacturers’ championship is at the forefront of my mind and at all costs we must win this,” said Plato.

“We’re still in the lead and I think we go to Brands looking really good for wins.”

Plato is the most successful driver in BTCC history with 87 wins and kept his dreams alive with a superb display at Silverstone.

He is a big outsider to clinch the crown, trailing by 50 points with 67 available, but has been in this position before.

He arrived at the 2013 season finale 49 points in arrears of championship leader Andrew Jordan and won the first two races.

Although he narrowly missed out at the conclusion of the campaign, Plato’s reputation means he cannot be written off.
