GEORGINA Polden endured a frustrating time at Silverstone in the latest round of the Motul Motorstar Championship.

The 18-year-old, from Kidlington, finished 13th after experiencing engine problems.

Polden had just started to find her rhythm in the first qualifying session and was looking good, only to suffer a crash.

However, 12th place was her best qualifying display of the season.

The warm-up to the race did not go to plan when a problem meant she was running well short of full speed.

But Polden managed to make a good start to the race and was in touch with the top ten.

The lack of power was to prove critical, however, as other riders took full advantage down the straights, relegating her to 13th position.

Polden now heads to Brands Hatch in a fortnight for the final round of the campaign.
