Alchester should mount a strong challenge for the title after an impressive debut competitive season.

Good luck to Alchester but I can’t see them lasting much for than a couple more seasons. For any club to continue they need a junior section, which unless they get their own ground will not happen, there are only so many ‘mates’ you can get involved. They should have no problem getting promotion this season the only other team that will be a threat to them will be Phoenix.

Wheatley were not 'reluctantly' promoted, we were forced into it. Having played two seasons in BBO Prem, and not winning a single game, the only reason we could be relegated was because we had to drop out of the league.
We were informed at the time that relegaion was not definite, and promotion was optional. However, Oxfordshire RFU decided to promote us, having come third in the league, and not consulting us. Even though they later lied and said they had spoken to us, no one in the club knows anything of this.
The result of this is a season of friendlies, which is all well and good, but puts the club in an awkward position regarding recruitment and player retention.
Having had a good rebuilding season last year, ORFU are doing their utmost to put Wheatley out of business. All they seem concerned about is clubs with big plans, rather than local clubs playing enjoyable, social rugby.
