Sam Muir, from Carterton, skipped the winning team as Watlington Bowls Club held its third under 25s day.
Muir, making his first appearance in the 36-person event having previously been studying in Australia, partnered Sam Watts, in his first-ever competition, and Joe Glenn, both of Oxford City & County.
Darren Wakeman (Carterton), Sam White (Bicester) and Dan Lewis (Shiplake) were runners-up, while in third were Chris Skidmore (Charlbury), Helen Campion (Banbury Central) and Katie Glenn (Oxford City & County).
Two years ago, the county struggled to find 36 bowlers eligible for the competition, but this year invitations went out to 59 which shows the continued popularity of a sport once considered only for the elderly.
If anyone would like details of junior bowls or how to go about joining a club in Oxfordshire they should contact the Oxfordshire Under 25s team manager, Steve Gilkes, on 07868 435052.
