OXFORD United legend James Constable is a guest of honour for Oxford City Stars’ ice hockey match at home to Swindon Wildcats on Sunday.
The striker, who now plays for Vanarama National League club Eastleigh, regularly watched the English National League side when he played for the U’s.
And Constable cannot wait to return this weekend.
He said: “I’m looking forward to coming back and seeing everyone and it should be a great occasion.”
Stars are offering Oxford United and Oxford City season tickets-holders as well as members of United’s supporters’ trust, Oxvox, two-for-one entry to the South Division 2 match.
Leaders Stars are hoping for another big attendance at Oxpens after a 1,000 sell-out crowd for their last home game on February 11.
As part of the Oxfordshire United partnership, members of the Oxford United in the Community team will also attend.
Constable, the U’s second all-time top-goalscorer, is no stranger to the rivalry with Swindon – having bagged both goals in their 2-1 win at the County Ground in 2011.
Stars’ director Greig Box Turnbull, said: “Everyone enjoys watching an Oxford v Swindon fixture in any sport, so we felt it was a great opportunity to celebrate the partnership.
“We’re always looking at ways to develop our attendances and we look forward to welcoming our friends from United, City, Oxvox and the Yellow Army to celebrate sport in Oxford and cheer on the Stars.
“I’d encourage as many people who can make it to come along and be part of it.”
United and City fans can take advantage of the offer by presenting their season tickets at the turnstile, while Oxvox members can show their membership card.
