BOXING: Daniel Robinson edged out on split decision in final
BLACKBIRD Leys fighter Daniel Robinson won a silver medal in the 64kg class B final at the Haringey International Box Cup.
Robinson, a support teacher at the Oxford Academy, reached the final by stopping Patrick Gill (Westside ABC) in the first round with a cut eye.
In the final, he lost the first round against Jim McBride (Glenrothes), but dominated the second with some solid punches.
The third round was closely fought, but McBride edged a split-decision verdict.
