DYLAN Driscoll scored a magnificent century as Oxfordshire Under 12s ran out comfortable 42-run winners against London Schools in a friendly at Moulsford.

Electing to bat, Oxon’s openers looked relatively comfortable until Charlie Turner fell for 13 in the fifth over.

Driscoll (102) and Alex Laird (31) then formed a century partnership for the second wicket, before the latter fell.

After that, runs became harder to find, but Driscoll stood firm to help guide Oxon to 198-6 despite being run out in the final over.

London Schools looked in control at 88-1 in the 19th over, but two quick-wickets for leg spinner Cian Gerber (4-37) turned the course of the match.

Their challenge petered out as Oxon’s bowlers tightened their grip and Turner mopped up the tail for 156 to secure victory.

The county’s under 15 side were outplayed by Gloucestershire Development, slipping to a 194-run defeat in friendly at Moreton-in-Marsh.

William Salter (129) and Ewan Gegg (96) starred as the home side posted 312-7.

Oxon struggled after a poor start, despite the best efforts of Charlie Oakey (29) and William Humphries (28no) and were all out for 118.

ELLIE Noble’s half-century helped Oxfordshire to a 49-run victory over Dorset in Group A of the ECB Women’s T20 Division 3.

It proved to be their only success, though, as they went on to suffer an eight-wicket defeat to Devon at Bicester & North Oxford.

Oxon elected to bat against Dorset, but lost three early wickets.

Noble (51) and Abigail Flory (33) steadied the ship to help post 133-6.

Harriett Batchelor then took 3-12 as Dorset were restricted to 84-9.

Against Devon, Oxon only set 90-8.

Despite getting two early run-outs, the total was not a challenge as the visitors cruised to victory.

l IN the ECB Women’s County Under 13 Cup, Oxon were beaten by 147 runs against Northamptonshire in Group 2 of the A Division at Stewarts & Lloyds Corby.

Flo Miller hit 93 to help the hosts set 229-5, before Oxon were all out for 82.

l MIA Thompson took 3-28 but Oxon were beaten by 82 runs away to Warwickshire in the ECB Women’s Under 15 County Championship.

They restricted their hosts to 192-9 at Kenilworth Wardens in the A Division Group 2 match,

But after a positive start to their run-chase, Oxon were dismissed for 110.
