EDDIE Pepperell will begin the attempt to secure his European Tour card for next season today as the Portugal Masters gets under way.
The tournament is the final event of the regular season, with the Abingdon golfer right on the borderline between missing out and making sure of his place on the 2017 circuit.
Only a good finish at Vilamoura would guarantee qualification for Pepperell, who finished joint 22nd at the British Masters on Sunday.
He tees off at 12.50pm, alongside Craig Lee from Scotland and American Daniel Im, who occupy the two places above the Frilford Heath member in the all-important rankings.
