CAPTAIN Andy Harris is backing Joe Thomas to continue his fine season when Great & Little Tew take on Burnham in Division 1 tomorrow.

The spinner has taken 17 wickets in the Home Counties Premier League this year, more than half his haul from 2015.

Thomas’s fine form also led to an Oxfordshire call-up earlier this month.

Harris said: “He is making that step up and to take that amount of wickets is really pleasing.

“He is still young and four years ago he was playing for Combe in the OCA League so to now be playing at this standard is a real credit to him.”

Tew make two changes from last week’s abandoned match against Tring Park.

Ashley Hubbert and Matt Warner come in to the side for Robbie Catling and Robbie Shurmer.

Lloyd Sabin is calling on leaders Banbury to step up to the challenge of being without Luke Ryan and Richard West for their home clash with Slough.

They will both be at a wedding in Sweden, so Josh Megson and Ashley Blanchard come in.

Sabin said: “It is disappointing not to have them with us, but it is up to other people to step up.”
