CONFIDENCE is high as Oxford United Women prepare to welcome Watford in FA Women’s Super League 2 tomorrow (2pm), according to manager Les Taylor.

The U’s are looking to make it three straight wins when the league’s basement side come to Abingdon United’s Northcourt Road and Taylor believes that recent displays have proven his youthful side’s quality.

He said: “Our last two results have given the girls a lot of confidence.

“I think we’ll go into any game now thinking that we can get a result.

“The girls are learning fast how to be competitive and hopefully more decent results will follow.”

Captain Kat Nutman returns from an ankle injury, but centre back Rosie Lane remains sidelined with a thigh strain and there is also a doubt over midfielder Laura Nichol (ankle).

The Watford side boasts former U’s captain Sahara Osborne-Ricketts and winger Katie Stanley and Taylor believes they will be looking to spoil the party.

“As a player you always want to get one over your former club,” he said.

“They’ll be giving it everything and I expect a tight game.

“The games we’ve had here have all been really good entertainment. You’ll never see a dull game.”
