OXFORD Hawks skipper Bex Oakes broke a finger as her side lost a 2-0 lead and had to settle for a 2-2 draw at home to Stourport in Investec Conference West.

Oakes suffered the injury just before half-time and had to come off. At the time Hawks were leading 2-0.

They took the lead when Katie Hewitt deflected home after a great move involving Ruth Tressider, Lucy Millington, Jo Tolson and Takara Haines.

Their second goal came from a penalty corner, with Millington picking up the rebound.

Hawks reshaped their side for the second half, but soon came under pressure as Stourport levelled.

Hawks keeper Linda Billington was called into action, while Caro Harris cleared twice off the line as the home side hung on for a point Witney lost the leadership of South Clubs League Division 3A when they went down 2-1 away to Hampstead and Westminster 2nd. Their only goal came from Marie Vincent.
