LONDON Welsh replacement hooker Nathan Morris is looking forward to the opportunity to test himself against some of the best in the game when they travel to Saracens today, writes MATTHEW BRUCE.

The Exiles are still searching for their first win of the season after enduring a difficult campaign, but Morris’s enthusiasm remains undented.

“I’m really excited about it, it’s a chance to play a top side and that’s what the Premiership is all about,” he said.

“Sarries are obviously one of the top sides in the league and it’s the kind of fixture that makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up.”

The hosts occupy a play-off spot in the league, but after improved showings in recent European Challenge Cup matches Morris said that Welsh can spring a surprise.

He added: “I think we’ve been on an upward curve over the last few weeks and we can feel that it’s building up.

“We’re all desperate to play games and get that first win.

“I think we attacked Edinburgh well last week, but we just came up short in the end where it mattered.

“We really need the points now, so we’re approaching every game like it’s our cup final.”

Despite the difference in league positions, full back Chris Elder believes Welsh have to approach all games with a winning mentality.

“We’ve really got to expect to put in a performance to get the win,” said Elder.

“We were disappointed not to get anything from our last Premiership matches against Northampton and Leicester because we felt we had done the right things.

“We’re in need of that result and we have to prepare for a win and expect a win in every game.”
