Wheatley Youth eventually progressed into the Oxford City FA Premier Cup semi-finals with a 5-3 extra time victory at Fairview.

It was a typical, exciting cup tie with both sides giving 100 per cent.

Wheatley took the lead through Curtis Lane, but Sid Mobbs levelled in the second half.

The visitors restored their advantage with Lane collecting his second goal of the game.

But Fairview substitute Keiron Ellis made his mark, swooping to take the clash into extra time.

In the end it was Wheatley’s fitness which carried them through to the next round.

And two goals from Chris Kent and one from John Bodel clinched it, with Kieron Ellis replying for Fairview.

Elsewhere in the same competition, Chequers beat visitors The George 4-1 and Blackbird Rovers won away 1-0 at Black Swan.
