The Connaught Club played host to the University of East London claiming two national titles at the BUCS Individual Championships.
Anna Fitzpatrick, ranked 769 in the world rankings, claimed the women’s singles title defeating Coventry’s Ana Bodan 6-4, 6-2.
And in the men’s doubles, Johnny Parkes and Marshall Tutu beat Joe Binding and Harel Sugo from Durham, winning a final set tie-break 11-9.
All of UEL’s tennis teams play their home matches at The Connaught Club as part of the WimX academy programme which helps students study for a degree while also competing on the professional tour.
Club manager Nicola Bastick said: “It’s great to have the teams here playing their BUCS matches and to see players like Anna at the club interacting with members and hitting with our younger players.
“It all fits together really well.”
